Month In Pictures: February 2016

After the quiet and calm of January, there was a lot of activity in the seminary in February. Our strongest pictures this month came from those events.

The international seminarians had their annual outing to the Carmelite monastery in Terre Haute on February 6. For the last five years, the international seminarians have spent the Saturday before Ash Wednesday at the Carmelite Monastery, participating in a multilingual Mass with the nuns and sharing their heritages through food, music, stories and dance.

On February 9, the seminarians gathered for a Mardi Gras parade and talent show in the Alumni Commons. The following week, Archbishop Tobin of the Archdiocese of Indianapolis, was on the Hill to install the ministry of lector to 17 seminarians and the ministry of acolyte to 18.

One final photo came from Mass with the monastic community on Ash Wednesday. The community lines up and turns in theirbona operaor good works card before Archabbot Justin distributes ashes on top of the monks' heads.

Minh Vu and Krista Hall photographed the images in this month's post. To view more of the happenings on the Hill, please visit our SmugMug page: https://saint-meinrad.smugmug.com
