Saint Meinrad Archabbey Cultural Events, St. Meinrad, IN, will present “Sounds of Fury” on September 12, 2026, at 7:30 p.m. Central Time in St. Bede Theater. This concert will be performed by Saint Meinrad’s Arete Orchestra.
The Arete Orchestra is an ensemble of some of the most accomplished and respected musicians across the United States, including William Moersch, Bernhard Scully, David J. Harris, Jae Hyun Moon, and more. Led by Aaron Kaplan as the orchestra conductor, the Arete Orchestra will perform Mozart’s The Marriage of Figaro Overture, Haydn’s Trumpet Concerto, performed by the great trumpet virtuoso Ronald Romm, and Beethoven’s Symphony No. 7 in A Major, Op. 92.
Internationally acclaimed trumpet player Ronald Romm earned a bachelor’s degree and a master’s degree from The Juilliard School in New York. In 1971, he co-founded Canadian Brass, a group that has achieved global renown and has become a leading force in the world of brass ensembles. Throughout his career, Ronald has performed in over 4,500 concerts and has contributed to 60 recordings. From 2002-2021, he served as professor of trumpet at The University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. He is a Warburton Signature Artist and a Yamaha Performing Artist.
The word “Arete,” rooted in ancient Greek, encapsulates the ideals of excellence and moral virtue; values that resonate powerfully through the Arete Orchestra’s performances and the enduring legacy of the artists involved.
