The conferences will address issues related to the evangelizing mission of the Church’s sons and daughters, those who “are united to Christ and guided by the holy Spirit,” as described in the magisterial document Gaudium et Spes (Vatican II: On the Church in the Modern World). Our world is rife with conflict and division; serious Christians who “cherish a feeling of deep solidarity with the human race and its history” will reflect and pray about their presence and function in the world of today, as commissioned by Christ to bear a message of salvation intended for everyone.
