The late fourth-century/early fifth-century bishop of Hippo, St. Augustine, was an important theologian of the early Church. He wrote extensively on the theological concepts of grace and Trinity. But he also thought a great deal about prayer. In this retreat, we will turn to St. Augustine as a spiritual master and explore some of his most impactful teachings on the value and purpose of prayer and its vital role in the life of Christian discipleship.
