Whether you’re seeking spiritual renewal, discernment, or simply time with God, our Benedictine hospitality, beautiful surroundings, and guided retreats offer a sacred space to listen, pray, and grow.

Check-in time for retreats is 9 a.m.-3 p.m. Central Time. Vespers in the Archabbey Church is at 5 p.m., followed by supper. The opening conference typically begins at 7:30 p.m. The retreat concludes with lunch on the last day of the program. A complete schedule will be provided at check-in.

Gates of Paradise: An Art Retreat

Location: Archabbey Guest House and Retreat Center
Session Faculty: Fr. Noel Mueller, OSB

Following in a series of art retreats offered here (Fra Angelo, Raphael, Caravaggio, Van Gogh, Cézanne), this retreat will focus on Early Renaissance in Florence and the famous doors of the Baptistery of the Cathedral. Michelangelo called Lorenzo Ghiberti’s doors the “Gates of Paradise.” In contrast, one of the conferences will feature a study of Rodin’s famous “Gates of Hell.” Audio-visual aids will enhance this retreat.
