Meet Our Presenters

Dr. Daniela Abraham is an assistant professor at Saint Meinrad Seminary and School of Theology, where she teaches all levels of Spanish language, Latin American literature and culture, and courses in intercultural and global competence. She previously taught Spanish and international studies at Texas A&M University. Dr. Abraham has published in the areas of literary and social theory, interracial and interethnic relations, solidarity, cultural competence, and Catholic education. In addition, she has presented papers in many prestigious conferences, such as the American Academy of Religion, the Western Regional Conference on Christianity and Literature, the Society for Latin American Studies at the University of Manchester in England, and the Annual African Conference at the University of Texas in Austin. She is also a supporter of indigenous rights and co-leads educational retreats to Guatemala for seminarian formation and to bring awareness to issues concerning the K’iche’ people in the rural areas of the country.

Fr. Adrian Burke, OSB, has been a monk of Saint Meinrad Archabbey since 1992 and a priest since 1997. In addition to graduate degrees in theology from Saint Meinrad Seminary and School of Theology, Fr. Adrian has an advanced degree in spirituality (STL) from the Angelicum in Rome. Fr. Adrian worked as a pastor in nearby parishes, served in the Archabbey’s business office, and taught in graduate programs at Saint Meinrad. Presently, Fr. Adrian works as a nationally known retreat presenter and, in addition to his retreat ministry, serves the monastic community and seminary as a spiritual director.

Br. Jean Fish, OSB, a monk of Saint Meinrad Archabbey, has a Bachelor of Fine Arts from the University of Alabama at Birmingham, a Masters of Theology from Saint Meinrad Seminary and School of Theology, and a Bachelor of Science in Anthropology from Sonoma State University. He is a fiber artist who works primarily with sculptural basket weaving. Dr. David R. Freyer, DO, MS, is a board-certified pediatric oncologist with over 30 years of clinical experience treating children, adolescents, and young adults with cancer. He practices at Children’s Hospital Los Angeles and is a professor of clinical pediatrics, medicine, and population and public health sciences at the Keck School of Medicine, University of Southern California. Dr. Freyer was raised Methodist, converted to the Catholic faith during medical school, and became an Oblate of Saint Benedict with Saint Meinrad Archabbey on September 28, 2019.

Josh and Angie Greulich have been married for 14 years. Angie works for Catholic Relief Services and has a master’s degree from Saint Meinrad Seminary and School of Theology. Josh has a degree in economics and management from DePauw University and has worked at Jasper Engines and Transmissions for 20 years. They have two children, ages 11 and 12, and a lovable Bernadoodle pup named Gus.

Krista Hall has been a documentary photographer for over 15 years. She graduated from Western Kentucky University with a bachelor’s degree in multimedia photojournalism in 2008. She worked as a staff photographer for The Dubois County Herald from 2008-2012. She began work at Saint Meinrad in 2012 as the associate director of communications and most recently has served as director of communications. Krista’s strength is capturing moments and emotion and telling stories through images.

Fr. Eugene Hensell, OSB, a monk of Saint Meinrad Archabbey, has a doctorate in Scripture and is an associate professor of Scripture in the Seminary and School of Theology. Currently, he is the chaplain at the Guest House and Retreat Center.

Fr. Simon Herrmann, OSB, is a solemnly professed Benedictine monk and priest of Saint Meinrad Archabbey. He is director of donor relations and young adult engagement at the monastery and he serves as socius (associate formator for the novices and junior monks). For fun, he enjoys exercising, reading, and community building via video games online and offline.

Fr. Lorenzo Penalosa, OSB, a monk of Saint Meinrad Archabbey, has a licentiate degree from the Pontifical Liturgical Institute in Rome. He has served as Monastery Guest Master, custodian of Mass intentions, and assistant vocation director. He has also assisted in several liturgical and sacramental theology courses in the Seminary and School of Theology. He is currently working on his doctoral studies. 

The Very Reverend Denis Robinson, OSB, is president-rector of Saint Meinrad Seminary and School of Theology and and has served in this capacity since 2008. He is a Benedictine monk, and also assistant professor of systematic theology. A Mississippi native, Fr. Denis attended Saint Meinrad College and School of Theology, earning a bachelor's degree in philosophy in 1989 and a Master of Divinity in 1993. From 1993-96, he was parochial vicar for the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception in Memphis, TN. He joined the Saint Meinrad monastery in August 1996. Father Denis also attended the Catholic University of Louvain, Belgium, where he received a master’s degree in theology in 2002, a licentiate in sacred theology in 2003, and doctorates in sacred theology and philosophy in 2007.

Jane Feliz Rush holds a master’s degree in theological studies from Saint Meinrad Seminary and School of Theology. Formerly a Catholic school teacher, campus minister, and administrator, she currently serves as a retreat facilitator, speaker, and writer. She enjoys running and backpacking with her two young adult children and husband of 27 years. She blogs at catholicwonder.com.

Right Reverend Kurt Stasiak, OSB, was elected archabbot of Saint Meinrad Archabbey by the Benedictine monks of the community on June 2, 2016. He is the 10th abbot and 7th archabbot in the community’s 170-year history. Born in Rüdesheim, Germany, Archabbot Kurt professed vows as a Benedictine monk on August 15, 1975, and was ordained a priest on April 27, 1980. He earned his doctorate in sacramental theology from Sant’ Anselmo in Rome and has written several books and numerous articles.

Corinna Waggoner, a native of Evanston, IN, has been a co-worker of Saint Meinrad Archabbey since 2018. She currently serves as the director of retreat programs and director of Saint Meinrad Books & Gifts. She is pursuing a master’s degree in theology from Saint Meinrad Seminary and School of Theology, and she holds an undergraduate degree in clarinet performance and arts management from Indiana University’s Jacobs School of Music.

Br. Zachary Wilberding, OSB, is a monk of Saint Meinrad Archabbey, who holds bachelor’s and master’s degrees in nursing and graduate study in theology. He has practiced psychiatric and oncology nursing and has experience in hospital and prison ministry. He works in the Monastery Vocations Office and the Graduate Theology Program.

Deacon Rich and Cherie Zoldak have master’s degrees in pastoral theology from Saint Meinrad Seminary and School of Theology. They live in Louisville, KY, and have certificates in pastoral ministry from Spalding University. They have been married for over 40 years, have three children, and one grandchild. They minister to couples in their parish who are preparing for marriage.
